Your house now needs to be protected by RCD. RCD stands for Residual Current Device. If you have an old fuseboard with fuse carriers then you should consider having the board replaced by a new 17th Edition Fuseboard. This will protect your entire home and if any faults occur the board will trip automatically which not only will save you money but could also save your life. The price includes, the new board fitted by one of our NICEIC approved electricians who work for T&T Direct, travel and a full house test. Your property will then have an NICEIC Certificate .  this job we will phone to book the works within 5x days. This price does not include the upgrading of earth bonding to your water and gas. If this needs doing then the extra cost will be charged.

If your fuse box has a wooden back, cast iron switches, or a haphazard mixture of fuses it is likely that it dates back to before the 1960s and will need to be replaced. The 17th Edition 2008 requires most if not all circuits in domestic premises to be RCD-protected. The most common being a main switch with RCBOs protecting each individual circuit. However, another suggestion favors a main switch with two RCDs protecting separate DIN rails. If careful consideration is given as to what each bar will control in the way of upstairs and downstairs lighting and power circuits
